Scenario

Its a Friday night and i am bored alone at home.

I take out my iPhone and take a look at which of my friends are currently “active”. I make a multiway phone call with some selected friends who are active. We decide to go to the city somewhere. Where in the city though? What places will be buzzing tonight?

We use the application to pan accross a map of the city. The map displays publically avaliable events, their details and some statistics. As we pan through the city we see that the bar that we intended on going to only has 120 people publically registered through the system. We scrap that idea and continue to pan across until we come across Havana which displays 300 publically registered users, 4 of which are freinds from our contacts list.

We decide to register for Havana.

Later that night, the night wears off and Havana begins to die down.  We use our iPhones to see which other of our friends had registered at events in the city that night. We find that several of our friends had decided to go to a club just down the street. We call up that group and decide to meet up for a late night meal and chat when we finish at the club.

and u say im always on about havana… i new u loved it there

maybe u should come tonight.. except bring some friends so ur not travelling home alone

other than that i like the idea, but the only thing is the iphone itself is generally marketed to an older lot of kids, so perhaps instead of using examples of clubs like havana which are targeted at the younger kids, u could use examples like bars and resturaunts where the type of people who would own an iphone would generally be

    :) :) :)

Hmm.. I think your idea is super practical and could actually be used now. you could do talk to george too since it’s a similar kind of idea with the social scene.
What I like best about your idea is the idea of only having to answer the question once. The whole use of google maps and panning etc — i must have totally missed in your presentation, because I was already impressed by the social texting/ bulletin board thing. Corect me if i’m wrong – is it like a chatroom for sms?so you can see scroll down to see what everyone else has written?

Or have i missed the point completely?
